A Retrospective by Tanmayo

ANZATA is proud to host Tanmayo’s retrospective exhibition on art@AT. Tanmayo experiments with space and colour, juxtaposing flat planes of expression punctuated with focused interludes of rich colour. Colour is orchestrated in a way that is informal but playful, thus generating a sense of ordered limitlessness. Her paintings evolve through a process of overpainting. The process of her expression is as important to her as the final product. This process seeks to bring order out of chaos which Tanmayo equates as being synonymous to life itself. The importance of Tanmayo’s art is sustained by contemplation of its singularity, intelligence and feeling.

Tanmayo has a Masters Degree in Expressive Art Therapy from the University of Louisville, Kentucky, USA. She has also won national art prizes. She has exhibited in USA, India and Australia where her paintings are in notable collections.
