Avoiding the Voidfeatures works from the Cunningham Dax Collection which reflect and engage with existential ideas and concerns. The exhibition invites viewers to contemplate the insightful ways in which the creators of these works have grappled with difficult questions that are ordinarily avoided: Who am I? Do I belong? Why am I suffering? This exhibition includes paintings, drawings, sculpture and multi-media and poetry by a range of artists including Sandy Jeffs, Graeme Doyle, Richard McLean, David Rellim and Joan Rodriquez. Works made by inpatients of psychiatric hospitals also feature in the exhibition.
Canberra artists and therapists Kathleen Rhee, Samantha Cursley and Claire DeLuca are holding an art-as-therapy exhibition titled “Journeys through the Emotional Landscape”.
