REGISTRATION OF ART THERAPISTS
ANZATA accredits and registers Art Therapists/Art Psychotherapists. Professional registration of Art Therapists is to an internationally agreed standard and Australian and New Zealand Art Therapists have reciprocal rights with overseas Art Therapy Associations. More information on the requirements to be registered as an Art Therapist can be found under Membership.
ANZATA represents all art psychotherapies and has a category of professional membership for individuals
who have completed an equivalent Masters degree in an art modality which complies with the training standards of ANZATA.
All ANZATA professionally registered Art Therapists can be found on the Therapist Directory on the website. These members are able to access and use the Membership Logo for their verification of registration which is found under 'Membership – Member Information'. These members are also able to use the post-nominal AThR. Both the logo and the post-nominal are trademarked for Professionally Registered Art Therapists use only. This verifies the level of academic training that is required to practice as a clinically trained Art Therapist.
